McQueen's Sarah Burton Wins Designer of the Year Award

The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding gown and her sister Pippa's bridesmaid's dress have been 2011's two most mooned-over fashion statements.

So it was utterly appropriate that their designer, Sarah Burton, was last night handed fashion's ultimate accolade at the British Fashion Awards.


 Burton, chief designer at Alexander McQueen, was named Designer of The Year. "This feels like the icing on the cake on a really amazing year," said Burton as she accepted her award from Samantha Cameron.
